It’s one thing to be flexible when you are young but as you age so your muscles shorten as you do less and less activity.

Being flexible allows us to maintain our level of fitness, prevents injuries that seem to be caused in the simplest of ways and allows us to lead a happier life.

Improving your flexibility helps prevent back problems and improves your balance too. (Look here for Balance exercises)

Often we are taught in school to stretch before performing an exercise or after a sport we are advised to cool down and make sure our muscles are kept in the best of shape.

Maintain your flexibility and your exercise routines will be less fraught with pain and injury and you’ll reap the benefits in other areas of your life too.
